Introduction - n.1

The Editors

On May 28th 2010, the review’s Issue N. 0 was introduced at Milan, during a presentation attended by Mr. Mario Sala, President of the National Church of Scientology of Italy and by the members of the editorial staff: Fabrizio d’Agostini, Attorney at Law, Dr. Gabriele Segalla and Dr. Andrea d’Agostini.

Interviews and speeches can be viewed at www.quadernidifreedom.com.

The unexpected success of Issue N. 0 called for a reprint.

The first article of this current Issue N. 1, featuring the second part of the essay on “Philosophy and Religiousness of Scientology” by Dr. Gabriele Segalla, continues the examination of the relationship between Scientology and the history of thought, with specific reference to Gnosticism and to XIIIth Century Christian Mysticism.

The second article, entitled “A New People, A New Nation”, interprets and comments upon the Creed of the Church of Scientology, expounding the founding force for a new civilization and a new nation contained in the Creed’s propositions.

There is a contribution by Pier Paderni consisting of an essay on Criticism and Modern Art.

We also present a comment on the bi-annual census of the congregation, taken by the Church of Scientology at the end of 2006, and the ongoing survey.

To follow, two reviews: the first one of the monothematic volume, published by the magazine “Testimonianze” on Simone Weil, and the second one of the work of  Dr. Massimo Introvigne entitled “Il cortile dei gentili”.

Some important contributions will shortly be abridged and/or summarized for publication in the next issues or, with the permission of the authors, published by chapters.
